Centre for Metropolitan Studies (CEM)

The Centre for Metropolitan Studies (CEM) is dedicated to the study of recent dynamics in urban transformation, with focus on the Sao Paulo Metropolitan area. The project comprises three parts: Research, Technology Transfer and Dissemination of Information.

Housed at CEBRAP, CEM is a partner of the Seade Foundation, the departments of Political Science (DCP) and Sociology (DS) of  FFLCH-USP, TV Cultura, ECA-USP, SESC/SP and Inpe.

The Centre is supported by Fapesp, through the program Centres of Research, Innovation and Dissemination (Cepid) and by
CNPq, by means of the National Institutes of Science and Technology program (INCT). Furthermore, it is an associated member of ANPUR.

This site presents the work of CEM: publications, articles, databases, audiovisual productions and map servers, all available for consultation and interactive use.
