Thematic Maps of Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador

A preliminary version of the map server is available which allows the development of thematic maps of the metropolitan regions of Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador.

The map server is an GIS-Web application that makes available a group of variables developed from the results of the sample of the 2000 Population Census of IBGE. The data are available for ‘weighting areas’ for all the municipalities which make up the three metropolitan regions.

The variables and their respective sources are specified in each of the available themes.  The application allows the user to zoom, pan, do an advanced search, create legends and print. The available themes are found below.
