Communication
at CEM includes to main areas that serve to crystallize
the dialog between the institution and the broader public,
making it aware of the nature and content of CEM research.
This
has been done in such a way as to create room for experimentation
in the field of scientific journalism, to wit the online
magazine DiverCIDADE
(DiverCITY), and documentary films conceived not
to illustrate our research, but to build a discourse
based on our work.
Documentaries are produced with a keen awareness of
the need to find an original way to present the themes,
contributing to creating new angles from which to analyze
the phenomena that are the focus of our work, and justify
the use of audiovisual language as an instrument of
communication.Both
of these efforts are already consolidated.
The main focus of the Communication area is to develop
mechanisms whereby these two means can be better articulated
to further disseminate the Centre’s activities. The
idea is to add audiovisuals to the online magazine,
using the advantages of the digital media.
The audiovisual area of CEM will produce small videos
for this purpose.The
CEM also has an agreement with TV
Cultura, the State of Sao Paulo public TV station
to produce a series of reports based on our research,
thus bringing the content of our scientific investigations
to the public at large.
