Cooplurb receives a visit from Minister Gil and his team

On the 6th of August, Cooplurb (Urban Logistic Cooperative), an initiative of the Lidas Institute, received a visit from the Minister of Culture, Gilberto Gil and his team. The occasion served to present the project Pontos de Cultura (Points of Culture) which is a part of the National Program of Culture, Education and Citizenship—Cultura Viva.

In an emotional discourse, the Minister of Culture applauded the initiative of  the cooperative in working towards a notion of belonging to the space together with the community utilizing innovative internet tools such as software for mapping of the region, from problematic areas such holes in the streets to the location of schools and services.  He pointed out that this type of action which constitutes what is called “do-in points”, in reference to the technique of oriental massage. According to the minister, this type of action, when stimulated, has the capacity to disseminate itself, creating a network that gives potential to the proposed initiative, spreading itself to a much larger area.
